The beauty of metal is that it can be melted down, reformed and reused time and time again without losing any of its beneficial qualities. Metal is not a renewable resource so we can keep virgin iron ore in the ground by recycling what is already in circulation.

John Lawrie successfully completes decommissioning of MV Kaami at Kishorn Dry Dock
John Lawrie Metals Ltd, the Aberdeen headquartered metal waste recycling and processing experts, has today announced the successful completion of a first-of-its-kind project in partnership with Kishorn Port Limited (KPL). The project involved the downsizing and recycling of the MV Kaami, a general cargo vessel recovered six miles off the North West coast of Skye after running aground in March.








Supporting The River Dee Trust To Plant A Million Trees
Early in February our Director of Tubulars, Iain Laing purchased 12 trees to help support a local initiative. The River Dee Trust has launched a campaign to plant a million trees in one of the largest restoration projects in the Cairngorms.

Director to Deliver Lecture to MSc Decom Students at The University of Aberdeen
Our Environmental Director Ray Grant will once again be visiting the University of Aberdeen as he looks to share his insights to the students of the MSc Decommissioning course on the 31st of January. Ray first delivered a guest lecture last year and was happy to receive the return invitation.
